Royal fans have been left astounded after 'spotting Prince Harry' in the UK on his birthday.

The Duke of Sussex turned 40 on Sunday (September 15) and the occasion was marked by fans and estranged family members alike. Harry, who left the UK in 2020 with wife Meghan Markle and relocated to Montecito, California, has kept visits back home to a minimum over the last four years.

However, Londoners were amazed to see what appeared to be the prince at a pub in the capital over the weekend. But all was not as it seemed – as the lookalike was actually just a waxwork.

The lifelike model was loaned from Madame Tussaud's to the Duke of Sussex pub in Peckham for the occasion, and was joined by a similar statue of Meghan. The Virgin Media News X (formerly Twitter) account shared the hilarious story, writing: "In London, The #DukeofSussex pub in Peckham marked #PrinceHarry's 40th birthday with a special celebration.

"The pub hosted a wax figure of Harry, on loan from Madame Tussauds London, alongside a figure of his wife, #MeghanMarkle. #RoyalFamily."

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with many rushing to wish Harry a happy birthday. One wrote: "Sounds like fun. Happy birthday Harry," while another chimed in: "Love it!!!! I would so visit just for this."

A third agreed: "Happy Birthday to our one and only Prince Henry [Harry's birth name]. The Duke of Sussex." A fourth said they wished they'd been able to see the model for themselves, writing: "Wow had I been to London this weekend was going to go there and have a pint."

However, others were unconvinced by the waxwork model. One person wrote: "No one else wanted it so what the heck….." Meanwhile another wrote: "Did they pull the figures out of the dumpster behind Tussauds? No one is interested in them anymore."
